I love dogs!!! As a matter of fact one of the reasons that I love Portland so much is because it is such a "dog friendly" city!! Portland has its very own monthly pet magazine called SPOT.
I cannot wait for the April issue because my cousin's awesome dogs are going to be on the cover of the magazine!!! She has two beautiful dogs with amazing personalities. Turtle is a Greyhound, and an ex racer, he was a rescued dog. Birdie is an Italian Greyhound, which is a very tiny Greyhound. Anyway, for the magazine, they got to do a photoshoot. You can look at their photos here. The first 3 galleries (but one of them is locked i think) are my cousins dogs. So I just wanted to share that really cool piece of info with you, because I love dogs.

Good things come in pink boxes....
And I'm not talking about Girl Scout cookies!!!
LOL. I FINALLY got to go to Voodoo Doougnuts!! in Portland. OMG!! It was a such a kick in the pants. It is literally a freaking hole in the wall. They have a TON of fresh baked donuts. Nicole and I both got just a basic maple bar (because they just looked good) to eat right then. And then we got a couple to bring home with us. They packaged them up in this awesome pink box for us. The folks at Voodoo know what they are doing, their donuts are amazing.......and a little wacky.............and a little......dirty...
So here is what was in the pink box......
Isnt that a riot??? That one you see there is called "cock and balls" and I am sure you can figure out why on your own. We cant wait to take it in to Dennis's dad's shop and see if he wants to share it with us. Its absolutely huge!
Today, despite the rain in Portland, was an awesome day. Did a little Saturday Market, and a little of 23rd, and we were on our way to the airport anyway, and had like 3 hours to kill before Nicole's had to take off so we went to IKEA!!! Both Dennis and I fell in love with IKEA. We both wanted to buy stuff: lamps, frames, rugs, beds LOL! But we decided to grab a catalog and bring it home and make out a "shopping list" and go back down in a couple of weekends and get what we really want. The stuff is like so cheap I could NOT believe it.
Anyway, I took my camera to Portland, but it didnt have a memory card in it....so, to no suprise, I have NO pics of the weekend. Which sucks because I got to meet my brand new 2nd cousin Ariana May, she is only 4 months old. And I got to meet my cousin Jessi's dogs, the two coolest greyhounds in the world!!!

Did I mention that I got new shoes?
Finally!!!!
So its story time!
I wore the new shoes today to work. OMG so comfortable! I was springing and bouncing all over the place. One bummer was that I had to miss going to the walking park tonight because we had family dinner plans at La Palma. Dennis's dad came, and his sister and her family, all so we could have a big dinner with Nicole while she is here. So anyway, dinner was kinda a mess, the kids were fighting and it was really tense for some reason. I kinda ended up getting my feelings hurt too. So I decided since I didnt get to walk with my friends tonight, that I was gonna just walk home from the restaurant and get my work out that way. I even had my iPod and everything, so I left!
I felt a little silly, because I was afraid someone would see me in my work clothes, and packing a purse. You know, someone that knows me and would pull over to offer me a ride. But I just walked through town and got by the fairgrounds and decided to cut through, less chance that someone might see me. So anyway, I get almost all the way through and there is a fence! I walked almost the whole perimeter looking for a way out and finally came to an open gate and had to walk across the high school football practice field. I think it was about this time that the backs of my heels started to sting a little. I thought, wow, there is some rubbing going on back there. I still had about 1/2 way to go. By the time I got to the area of my neighborhood, my heels were killing me so bad. But what could I do? stop? take off my shoes? What? The pain slowed my pace down considerably. The last five blocks or so, I wasnt even walking. It was more of a hobble if anything! When I got home, the backs of my socks even had blood on them.
Why did my new shoes do this to me? How could they let me down like that? So now I dont know what I am going to do..... Do I use band-aids and try to stick it out until I break the new shoes in? Or do I return them and risk going for more months before finding another pair that I like?

*sad*
I dont know how to explain it.....but I am sad today. I feel so.......bleh? But the reason I am sad is so strange. Because everywhere I look, I see beautiful around me. And it makes me sad that I cant do something like that. Why wasnt I the one that made that beautiful thing?
Oh, and my back hurts.
Oh, and my back hurts.

I want fabulous!
So like all I have been wanting to do lately is shop. I have been communicating with my inner girly girl. I am so excited for spring to get here so I can wear my sunglasses more often, oh and flip flops! Next week Nicole is going to be here all week and I am going to take a day off to hang with her and get a pedi and some new flips, make-up, something! Anything!
A few things that I am totally in love with right now:
This lip gloss, I have the HoneyDo, and the Nilla Fudge. For $5 simple dollars, its an amazing way to bring sexy back!
Got hooked up with this way cute hoodie from Macy's, cant wait to get some flip flops to match it. I can live in this thing forever, its so cozy.
These big sunglasses (which broke the other day by the way!) and messy braids. I have been rockin the braids lately. What inspired me to start this I have no idea, but it beats the shoulder length bore that is my hair currently.
Oh, also on the list of things I need. Walking shoes. I have been going to the walking park with some cool chicas this week. We have like a whole "walking club" thing going on. I need new shoes. I am so picky about my tennis shoes that I have probably tried on 50 pair and just cannot find one that I like. Dude. Its time, I really need to suck it up and get some. I have shin splints from walking already. Cant wait for new shoes.
This whole walking thing is awesome. I stick my iPod phones in one ear, and listen to the girlies with the other ear. Its so much fun to get out in the fresh air and get a couple of miles in. Cant wait until Sunday to go again.

Chillaxin with the Chicas
Just wanted to share a pic of the girls and I on our way home from PDX last weekend.
We took the scenic drive, it was a gorgeous day.
Got to stop at Sage's cafe in Hood River and that was amazing as always.
I have a lot of really good footage from CKC weekend so I cant wait to get started on my little "production."
Hope I have some spare time this week.

Puddy: Rest in Peace
My little boy has gone to heaven as of this morning. I have spent an awesome 15 years with him. We have been through so much together, moved all the way across the state together (3 times!). He really was there for me through so much. I wonder if kitties know things like that. I could never thank him enough for all of the joy he brought into my life.
I will never forget you Puddy.
