Harley is doing a project at school about grasshoppers. She wanted to catch a real grasshopper to use for her display, but real grasshoppers dont come around our house too often (thank goodness!!!!).

Dennis had some fimo clay laying around and look what he made!!!!

 

 

Can you believe that he can make things like that? He has made a lot of little tiny animals and stuff out of fimo clay. That was years before we even met, but he's still got it! It just amazes me.

Why does weird stuff always have to happen right before we are about to leave?

So Dennis points out the other day that the hose to our washing machine is leaking right by the one and of knob. I just kind of ignored it, because I couldnt see the leak, and well, I needed to do laundry. Today a guy came and looked at it, and yes, it was leaking. He thinks he fixed it though.

Then!!! Dennis calls me today and says that he found a leak in Harley's closet (what he was doing in there I dont know). The water heater is actually in a little cubby that you have to get to through Harleys closet. So, now we need a new water heater, because the one we have is 25 years old. And the leaking water heater would explain last months electricity bill. $*%#)@!!!

We are leaving tomorrow to pick up Nicole from the airport. Harleys room is tore apart because we had to empty her closet. And ironically, its Harley's room that Nicole stays in when she comes down.

Oh yea, there is something else! Our brand new TV that we just got a couple weeks ago has a problem. One of the speakers is cutting in and out. Good thing we have the 3 year warranty. Bastards.

I have been sick for almost a week now, with an awful cough, and runny nose. Coughing a lot, my chest muscles hurt!

Is this week over yet?

The verdict is in!

And he loved it!! The door was all shut when he came home, and he just routinely went to take his stuff back to his room and as soon as he opened it he screamed with joy!! "THANK YOU!!!!" He was so happy! Very very appreciative. He told Dennis a while ago that his room "feels like home"..... awww he is a sweet boy, that one.

What do you think? Does it look 14-ish? I love how it looks. Cindy came over tonight to check it out and it was just so cozy in there that the 3 of us ended up hanging out in there for 2 hours!!!

Phase 4, moving back in

Ignore the mess, I lost track of time, and now its late and I need to go to bed.

Hung the blinds tonight, nice!!

 

Both the kids need "special" clothes hangers. It works out so much better this way. They can hang their own clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer.

 

I also got the shelf built tonight. Still havent decided if we are putting the doors back on or if we will go the same route we did for Harley's room (the curtain).

 

Anyway, we are definitely making progress. Hopefully tomorrow Dennis will get the coat rack put up.

Now, its night night time.

Phase 3... the "oh shit" phase

Oh Shit everyone! The color is too dark. But it's too late. It's staying that way. Actually, it isnt that bad, but its almost identical to the color of the fake grass mat looking wall paper that we just painted over. It looks nice though. It's a vast improvement. The painting is about 99% done. We just have to do some touch ups here and there.

Well..... after a brief emotional breakdown, the room is primered, and the ceiling is primered AND painted!!! I hate painting!! I think I need my head examined when I come up with ideas like this. I get stuck doing the ceiling (for obvious reasons) and its HARD!!! OMG!!! I am so sore. I will be the first to admit, I have NO upper body strength. I wanted to die!!! But, its done now, so yay! I am covered in paint too!! So, all we have left is to paint the walls the wall color, and paint the trim around the door and window. Should be able to get all that done tomorrow night. Then on Thursday we can start putting the place back together. You don't even want to know what the rest of my house looks like. Yikes!!!

So anyway, here is where we are after day 2.....
